James and Rebekah's Engagement Photography Session Albuquerque New Mexico Wedding Photographer ABQ
James and Rebekah met through Sandia Church of the Nazarene, a local church planted in the heart of Albuquerque. James would sneak a peek at her beauty during services when he should have been paying attention to the sermon! Later James found out Rebekah would do the same when he wasn't looking. I guess you can say it was love at first sight for them! I met James and Rebekah through Pastor Bianca who is a dear friend I've known for years. James and Rebekah were such troopers to do a sunrise session! We decided on an engagement session near their home. I was so amazed at the location & the day couldn't have turned out more perfect! James and Rebekah were naturals at posing. All sessions I'm constantly posing and guiding clients through each photos, not James & Rebekah.. I found myself telling them just keep doing what you're doing! It was truly a blessing to see how natural the intimacy comes between these two. God's Plan.
We met through church. I would see her walking around before and after service, and try to catch a glimpse of her when I should have been paying attention to the sermon. Later I found out that she was doing the same thing. Then she moved to the Mission Training Center where I also work and live. She had this crazy dog that was always getting loose and running off. We ended up getting in an argument about that dog, which was really the first time I started thinking about Rebekah seriously. She had some fire to her. Our first date was the weekend after Thanksgiving, we both have kids from prior relationships. I was so nervous, but I asked if she'd like to go down to the river to let the kids play in the water. She made fried chicken, one of my favorites, and we picknicked on the sand bar by the river. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast. I saw how Rebekah got right down and played along with them in the sand digging tunnels and making castles. That's when I realized how rare a person she was. Going down to the river is still one of our favorite things to do. We also love movie nights with the kids, eating too much popcorn and just cuddling together on the couch. I asked Rebekah to marry me at the exact moment of the Spring equinox, we were at the overlook on the west bluffs, and we could see all of Albuquerque all the way to the Sandia mtns. I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. She kept cutting up because she was nervous. But then she said yes. After that, we put a lock on the fence with a metal tag saying "Always and forever and Today, ", I've told her I love her Always and forever and today since I first realized how much I did love her. We are going to be married on May Day. It seemed fitting that we celebrate our wedding on a traditional day to celebrate spring and all the new beginnings that come with it.
